2020 Mercedes-Benz Models: What's New for 2020
Posted on December 3, 2019
Class-leading innovation, unmatched luxury, and a wide variety of offerings make Mercedes Benz the best-selling premium car brand in the world, year in and year out. With models ranging from the relatively inexpensive A-Class sedan to the limousine-like Maybach, there's a 2020 Mercedes Benz for just about every budget. Mercedes also offers a full line of SUVs - some with MSRPs under $40,000 - several performance cars, a hybrid/electric SUV, and the all-new Mercedes Benz EQC totally electric plug-in.
Here's a look at three of the more intriguing offerings from Mercedes Benz for 2020.
The 2020 Mercedes Benz GLA 250 4MATIC SUV
Maybe one of the world's best bargains, the 2020 GLA 250 4MATIC has a starting price of under $40,000. The GLAs 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine linked to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission gets a thrifty 7.6 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.1 L/100 km in the city.
The new GLA comes standard with an 8-inch color touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The GLAs DYNAMIC SELECT terrain response system lets drivers dial in its performance with the touch of a button and even has a user-configurable setting.
The 2020 Mercedes Benz G Class
The Mercedes Benz G Class SUV takes on Toronto traffic jams or Serengeti mud ruts with equal style and ease. Classic, rugged looks invite adventure, while a state-of-the-art cockpit adds excitement to every ride. Standard or available technologies include dual 12.3-inch touchscreen displays, a voice-controlled navigation system, a WiFi hotspot, and Mercedes me Connect. Mercedes me Connect lets owners remotely lock and unlock their vehicle, schedule service, and receive assistance by using a compatible cell phone.
The WiFi hotspot lets passengers connect up to eight devices at a time. A 416-hp Biturbo V8 - featuring a CAMTRONIC system that saves fuel by seamlessly deactivating cylinders - powers the G Class. A new 9-speed transmission with the Mercedes DYNAMIC SELECT system provides smooth, sporty, and efficient power.
The All-New, All-Electric, EQC SUV
So new that it doesn't even have a price attached, the Mercedes Benz EQC SUV takes plug-in electric to the next level. Thanks to an 80-kWh lithium-ion battery and dual electric motors, the new EQC delivers up to 402-hp and travels over 300 kilometers on a single charge. With DC fast charging, the EQC battery replenishes itself from ten percent to eighty percent in just forty minutes. Dual motors generate 561 lb-ft of torque and can push the EQC 400 from 0 to 100 kph in only 4.8 seconds.
Standard on every EQC, the DYNAMIC SELECT drive mode system features Comfort, Sport, Max Range, Eco, and driver-configurable programs. A regenerative braking system harnesses the energy of deceleration and also features five selectable modes. Like all Mercedes Benz vehicles, the ECQ comes with lots of technology and exceptional comfort.
Dual 10.25-inch touchscreen displays include a special EQ menu. A simple ""Hey, Mercedes"" initiates the EQC's intelligent voice assistant and lets drivers adjust the climate, change the radio station, or find the nearest restaurant using only voice commands.
