FARAZ AUTO SALES BMW M3 Buyer's Guide

FARAZ AUTO SALES BMW M3 Buyer's Guide

The BMW M3 Toronto is a thrilling ride that has been around for several years. With six generations of exciting designs, you're sure to find one that suits you. Let's take a look at the distinctions between the genertations.

The first-gen M3

The first-gen M3 was equipped with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that delivered 192 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque. It was paired with a five-speed manual. It also has a dual overhead cam that shares design elements with the engine from the M1.

Time hasn't affected the value of the first-generation M3. It is now a collector's ride, bringing in a large sum when sold.

The second-generation M3

The second-generation M3 brings with it a 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine, delivering 240 horsepower. It also debuted the six-speed automatic transmission.

Many second gen M3s were produced, making the cost less expensive than predecessor versions.

The third generation

The third generation is one of the top loved BMWs. It delivers precision handling and excellent performance. The engine is powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six that churns a 333 horsepower.

The fourth-generation M3

The fourth-generation M3 brings back the look of a sedan along with coupe and convertible body styles. It's most loved for the 4.0-liter V-8 engine that spits out a whooping 414 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque. This is the only eight-cylinder engine ever in an M3.

The fifth-generation M3

The fifth-generation M3 eliminates the V-8 and puts in the twin-turbo inline-six that can get to 60 mph below four seconds and outputs 425 horsepower and 406 lb.-ft of torque. You can even get higher output when you opt for the 2018 M3 CS.

The newest generation M3 is designed in the sedan-only version with a twin-turbo I-6 engine. The standard model whips out 473 horsepower and 406 lb.-ft of torque. If you get the M3 Competition trim, you have an extra 30 horsepower and a 73 lb.-ft increase in torque. During its 35 years of developing M3 models, this is the first time there is an available all-wheel drive trim.

The G80 M3 is quite new out, so there's not a lot of availability. You can expect the price to be significantly higher due to the limited amount that is out there.

This vehicle is a stunning ride no matter what generation you get, and it generally holds its value. Stop by Faraz Auto Sales to check out what used BMW M3s we have available. Our sales associate is here to assist you today.
