The Mercedes Benz GLC 300 has a lot going for it. Classified as a compact SUV crossover, it has all the features that you’ll find in the C-Class but in a luxurious SUV body. It features an exquisite exterior and comfortable interior design matched with magnificent performance and balance. It’s perfect for a medium-sized family with a generous room in the rear. All of this is presented with a turbocharged fuel-efficient engine. Read our review of the Mercedes Benz GLC 300 below.
Buying a 2016 - 2020 Model
The GLC was the upgrade to the GLK (released in 2010) as a more elegant and aerodynamic luxury SUV alternative. The GLC 300 shares 70% of all its components with the C-Class, so it made sense for Mercedes to add the ‘C’ to ‘GL.’ Introduced in 2016, the GLC 300 has come a long way, and the 2016 to 2020 models are still selling well since all Merc vehicles are known for their longevity and advanced tech features that are still state-of-the-art.
The benefits of the GLC 300 are its generous space in the rear for three passengers and the massive cargo space of 550 litres when the rear seats are split folded to 40/20/40. Today you can buy this excellent SUV at a very reasonable price, starting at $34,888 (2016) to $56,888 (2020).
All models come standard with fantastic amenities, including being the only SUV in its class with adjustable air suspension. Our GLC 300 has other options, including 48.26cm and 50.8cm wheels, a Class III hitch for hauling, leather upholstery, heated rear seats, a sunroof, Wi-Fi, and a 14-speaker premium Burmeister sound system.
Specifications
The GLC 300 has an all-wheel drive configuration. The SUV is available in three engine configurations: 4.0L V8 turbo (479 pound-feet of torque and 469 hp), 3.0L V6 turbo (384 pound-feet of torque and 362 hp), and the four-cylinder 2.0L turbo (273 pound-feet of torque and 241 hp). You can expect to get approximately 11.1L/100km in the city, 8.6L/100km on the highway, and 10L/100km combined driving the GLC 300 with the 2.0L engine. Plus, it can tow a maximum weight of 1,588kg.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The GLC 300 has a fantastic range of standard safety features, including adaptive cruise control, stability and traction control, a forward impact warning system that applies brakes in certain events, a driver inattention warning system, emergency assistance, and much more.
Other available safety tech includes an advanced assist parking package. This package consists of a parking assistance system, a hands-free liftgate, and parking sensors in the front and the rear.
